Training

Take your shop's courses - onboarding, in-house training, the employee manual and TEKTUNE's own course - and, for managers, build them, assign them and see who has finished.

Open the gear menu > Training. Every shop starts with TEKTUNE's own course, Getting started with TEKTUNE - a short tour of the app with a quiz after each lesson.

Take a course

My training shows the courses you've been given under To do (with their due date - red once it's past) and every other course your shop has published.

A lesson with its quiz
A lesson with its quiz
  1. Click Start (or Continue) on a course.
  2. Read the lesson. The lessons are listed on the left - a green check means done.
  3. If the lesson has a quiz, answer every question and click Check my answers. You need the course's pass mark (80% as standard); a question in red isn't right yet - read the lesson again and try once more. Without a quiz, click Mark as done.
  4. When every lesson is done the course is finished. You can Review the lessons or Print certificate.

Signing at the end (employee manual)

Some courses - like the employee manual - end with Sign off: read what you're agreeing to, type your full name and click Sign and finish. Your name, the date and the exact wording are kept as your sign-off.

Updated - take it again

If a manager changes a course a lot, they can ask everyone to take it again. The course then says Updated - take it again and starts from the first lesson. Your earlier sign-off is kept.

Build a course (managers)

People whose role can manage training - General Managers, Service Managers and Foremen as standard (see Roles) - see Courses and Progress tabs.

  1. In Courses, start from + New employee onboarding, + Employee manual (both come with lessons to edit) or + Blank course.
  2. Set the title, the kind of course and what it's about. Tick Ask for a signature at the end for a manual, and edit what people agree to.
  3. Add lessons with + Add lesson: a title, the text (bold, lists, headings, links), an optional video link and an optional quiz - 2 to 6 answers per question, tick the right one. Use the arrows to put lessons in order.
  4. Tick Published when it's ready, and click Save course. A draft can only be seen by the people it's assigned to.

  • Give it to every new employee automatically - everyone you add in Employees gets it, due after the Days to finish if you set them.
  • Ask everyone to take it again - after a big change, clears everyone's lesson progress. Past sign-offs stay.
  • TEKTUNE's own course is kept up to date by TEKTUNE - you can unpublish it, give it to new employees and assign it, but not change its lessons.

Courses from your other shops

If your shop shares Training with the other shops in its group, the Courses tab lists their published courses under From your other shops. Copy to this shop makes your own draft copy to change and publish.

Assign a course

In the course's editor, under Assign it, tick the people (search by name or role), pick a due date if you want one and click Assign. Each person gets a message in their TEKTUNE - System chat and a notification. When they finish, you're told the same way. Remove takes the course off someone's list.

See who has finished

The Progress tab lists every course someone has been given or started, with each person's status, due date (and Overdue), when they finished and - for signed courses - the name they signed with. Click Print next to the Training title to print it.
